Soundtracs Topaz 14 4 Manual Download
Here's a cool little mixer I picked up to submix drum machines, samplers, synths and so on in my home studio. It works great and sounds very even and warm. The EQ points seem to be just in the right places to sweeten up sounds without making them sound thin, muddy or harsh on the high end. Anyway, I'm not really doing much of that anymore, so I'm going to let it go. I'm mostly back to playing plain old acoustic drums again. This mixer would also be good for someone who was performing live and wanted to step up from a powered mixer setup to something a little bit more versatile. With the two aux's you could have a dedicated monitor mix and send a signal to your preferred effects processor.
All in all, this mixer, even though it's a smaller format one, seems more PRO than some of the newer stuff that's out there. The soft case and power supply are included. Thanks for looking.
I just need your advice on something. I am about to buy a mixing desk for dub music. I m into music for about 14 years, but I have much difficulty choosing. Truth is that I m not only interested in 'right' dub routing, right in/outs etc, but in good / warm sound too.
TLA and the 'small' midas models is not my choice as I ve got around 1000-1200 euros to spend on a console. So I am asking for your advice on newer or older models. My multitrack (will be mpc 4k) 'sends' 10 outs, so i guess I need a desk with 12-14 ins, and 2-4 aux.
I m mainly interested in sound in terms of quality, meaning that I won't buy a console that 'degrades' or 'alters' my sound in a bad way, just because it has nice routing, or because it is good for dub! I would like more like a 'flat' choice. Its difficult to find used mci in europe, and I cant judge the newer models of soundcraft / allen & heath cause I live in Greece and nobody has them!
I am OFF mackie for sure (due to bad personal history). Also do you think that choosing to record in a 2 track reel 2 reel will 'colorise' my sound, and has greater influence on that than the console, or I should get a descent audio interface and record my mixes in it? I would like your advice in an audio interface too. (price range on the interface is another 1000 euros) So, thanks a lot in advance I hope you ll help me make a desicion! Since you don't want a Mackie board (which is a pitty cause the EQ is really nice) I would suggest the following: Get an interface with plenty of outs and ins. Do your mixing and fx and such in a DAW and send subgroups of your digital mix to the individual outs of your interface and into an analog summing mixer. Then you record the analog stereo signal back into your DAW and get a nice and deep analog sounding mix with all the bells and whistles of the DAW world.
