'Z1-7641' appears nowhere at MSI. And don't bother with any driver updater sites. Just get it direct from MSI, once you get the right model number. Where do I find the model # on the motherboard? Well, that is not a good sign.

It may be that the ethernet port is indeed damaged. I know of no way to test the port other than to plug in a cable, connect to a router and look for the blinking light.
