I have done a Factory Restore but no changes. Can't do a firmware upgrade via Kies neither is the option for Software Update. I would like to upgrade to Android Version 4.0.4 or higher.

Placing your sim in another phone, it would appear, was only a temporary respite once it was inserted into your phone again. Did you actually take up the matter directly with Vodafone and inform them that your phone was blocked on multiple carriers? Have you tried any other carriers sim cards in your phone?

You may have to leave them in or reboot your phone to make sure that another sim does not just offer another temporary respite again.
